How to wear a long skirt is a question that I get asked on a very regular basis. Long skirts are very fashion friendly for all ages but, especially for those of us who’ve seen multiple fashion trends come and go in our lifetimes. Styling long length skirts can be tricky because it’s important to get the balance correct. Too long and you risk looking like the skirt is wearing you instead of you wearing the skirt.
A midi skirt is one of my go-to skirts this spring! There are so many stylish ways to wear a midi skirt but without a doubt, this has to be one of my favourites. I mostly stick to casual looks but at least once a week, I wear a dress or skirt. However, even thought I’m dressing up, I still like to keep my overall style classic and simple.

Midi Skirt Outfit – Let’s Put it Together!
This pleated midi skirt fits the balance between classic and simple. Plus, these pleats make is so fun! There is something so feminine about a skirt and this one has been a great addition to my wardrobe.

These block heels are so easy to walk in and add the perfect feminine twist. You all know that I’m not about to give up comfort for fashion and these shoes give me both. Plus, they are very versatile and I’m looking forward to wearing them through the season.
This motto jacket is another classic piece that is really getting some mileage. (Both Erika and I own the same one) Pairing it with this skirt adds another layer to the outfit and helps keep the overall look, you guessed it, casual.

This v-neck blouse is another classic piece that really helps pull the overall look of this style together. The fabric is more delicate than the jacket and helps keep the look soft and structured.

Finally, there are so many simple details that can be added to polish off the look. I’ve kept my purse simple because I didn’t want it to overpower the rest of the look. Adding a small silk scarf to the bag gives it an extra pop!
I love finding ways to keep current with the changing styles, while still staying true to an overall classic look. Fashion for women over 40 and 50 can be current and fun. Making new trends work, like a midi skirt help you stay fashion forward and have a little fun!
