As I look back over these pictures of Prince Edward Island, it’s like taking a deep relaxing breath of calm and quiet. There is a whole lot of nothing going on and it is just about perfect that way. This idyllic island one of the only places I’ve ever visited where the days drag and you truly feel as if time ticks at a different pace. We spent hours walking along red sand beaches, digging up sea glass and watching the waves crash on the red dunes. We climbed through caves and rocks, explored abandoned lighthouses and took hundreds of pictures just trying to capture the amazing scenery. This is Anne of Green Gables country and the landscape resembles a fairytale at every twist and turn. PEI has to be one of the best kept secrets. The beaches are quiet and clam. The trails are not over travelled, and the locals could not be more welcoming. It’s a place you hop on a bike or in a car and just meander and get lost in the magic of it all. Perhaps the greatest charm of the island is the fact you forget where you are. You forget your problems and just focus on the fresh air and crashing waves. PEI is an island worth taking in and doing absolutely nothing.
