So many new home design trends for 2019 are absolutely inspiring! In fact, we are so motivated by these ideas that both our houses have undergone some fun updates over the past few weeks. There’s nothing like tackling a new trend! So, we’ve created a super easy guide to give your home a simple update for spring.
Natural Elements – Home Design Trend 2019!
Think fresh, simple and natural like these prints from Forest Homes. Incorporating a print or canvass that features green leaves, mountains, lakes, flowers or any other outdoor scenery is an easy way to execute this design trend. In other words, think of it in terms of bringing the outdoors inside. Use a print or photo that you’ve taken on holiday. They look amazing when you display them in a simple frame or shadow box.
Millennial Pink – Top Trend!
Yes, we are STILL putting this perfect pink colour anywhere and everywhere we can! Denise recently replaced her living room rug with this one from Pottery Barn in millennial pink and we could just look at it for hours. Millennial pink is also one our new favourite colours to wear, because it works as a neutral and looks good with just about every colour in our wardrobe. Read about that here. Pillows, vases, rugs and even tea towels are all simple ways to follow this top home design trend.
Velvet Furnishings – Top Trend!
Sometimes you have a gut feeling and you go with your gut. About a year ago Denise talked me into a green velvet couch. She didn’t have to twist my arm too much because I absolutely loved the look of it. Now, I’m embracing this velvet look and incorporating it a bit more throughout my house. Throw pillows, curtains and blankets are a great way to use velvet without feeling like you live in a castle. Keep it simple by adding small touches if you make a big statement like a couch!
Black and White Decor – Top Trend!
Black and white help bring balance and depth to your home. Denise can attest, this is a classic trend will work as a neutral palette to complement any future trend you want to incorporate. White couches, walls and cabinets are a permanent staple in her house. This makes it easy to add any other trend as the years pass. For 2019, the black and white decor trend has never been easier to follow. Here are some easy elements to help you create visual contrast and just plain class!
